I’m Yeom Geun-bae, a director who makes films with AI.

I work under the name LotusLoot — Yeongeun (蓮根), Korean for “lotus root.”

My film Scars of the Legacy (2025) received a Special Award at the 2025 Korea AI Content Awards and won a prize at the Seoul International AI Film Festa. It was broadcast worldwide on Arirang TV, invited to the AI section of the 7th Changwon International Democracy Film Festival, and shortlisted for the Korean Film Archive’s pilot collection of generative AI films.

Alongside my own films, I take part in productions at BOXMEDIA.

About this site

This site is made of three materials — ramie for the ground, ink for the mountains and letters, and mother-of-pearl for whatever shines. Colors keep a 6 : 3 : 1 ratio, and positions and sizes follow the golden ratio (1 : 1.618). The moon on the first screen is najeon, mother-of-pearl inlaid in black lacquer; its nine openings sit where the golden ratio divides the disc.
